Mold Can Be A Burden On Your Health

Mold exposure is wide spread. Sources are water damaged structures, decaying materials, old foods, processed foods. Molds are the necessary recycling system of organic matter. There are many types of mold. They compete for food by producing mycotoxins to poison the competition. These mycotoxins are small. They can range from 20 to 0.1 microns. Due to their small size and fat solubility, they are very difficult to have protective barriers to keep them out. In addition to there ubiquitous nature, humans have great variability of exporting them from our bodies. Women in general tend to be more sensitive to mold, as well as slower in their ability to rid them. The medical community is blind to mold burden.

Water damaged structures frequently grow alternaria, aspergillus, cladysporin, penicillium, and stachybotrys. Is your penicillin allergy aggravated by your mold burden?

Horrid foods contaminated with mold are peanuts/peanut butter, oatmeal, and any corn that has spent time in a silo. Any harvested food product ground up for processing is susceptible. The protective coating is broken, exposing the internal organic matter for digestion by mold.

Cook fresh and consume. Refrigeration slows up mold growth, but mold builds up logarithmically with time.

Yeast, mold, and fungus are cousins. Yeast overgrowth in the GI tract compounds mold burden.

Mold and mold toxin can be aerosolized. The airway is an easy route of entry. How much of your Michigan sinus due to a component of mold? We see many patients plagued by lung conditions. We rarley have a specialist suggest the possibility of mold as a contributing factor. We are to busy diagnosing with fancy labels of “idiopathic eosinophilic pneumonitis” rather than looking for causes.

I met a very ill women who saw a number of specialist at high powered institutions, given multiple labels of diagnosis. She had a new roof a decade prior without any ventilation of the attic. Her home was a huge mold plate. Inhaled steroids and biologics to suppress immune irritation is profitable, but not the proper treatment of mold exposure.

If you have a lung or sinus issue, think mold as a component of the illness. I don't care how smart you are. You can only find what you are looking for. If your mind set is not mold burden, you will miss it repeatedly.

My start with mold was out of necessity. My lovely daughter starting her day with oatmeal and peanut butter. Do you have any idea how inadequate that makes me feel as a physician father. I am forty years into medicine and I did not protect my daughter.

The GI tract is a large mucus membrane. This is not a bullet proof barrier to mold and mold toxins. The problem is made worse with membrane compromise by drugs. Antibiotics alter the microbiome. Pathogenic microbes do not support a healthy barrier. NSAIDs such as aspirin, Motrin, naproxen are common over the counter drugs which poke holes in the membrane. Acid reducing drugs are used abundantly. Maldigestion and gastrointestinal chaos is inevitable.

Mycotoxins are fat soluble. They are carried by blood and lymph to the liver, to be exported via bile to the intestines. Unfortunately, these small molecules are easily resorbed back across the mucosa. Binders are critical to bind and poop out these renegades. Our favored is “biotoxin binder” combined with “carboxy powder”.

What to do. As always, do the basics great; diet, dehydration, movement, early to bed, massage, saunas, Epsom salt baths. Bikram yoga hits many points. Adequate fats diet. Mycotoxins are fat soluble. They will not come out on a low fat diet.

Greens (esp. bitters and crucifers),beets, eggs, artichokes, dandelion, hibiscus, lemon, grapefruit, aloe, and spices of fenugreek, cinnamon, turmeric, and garlic.

Nebulize with our protocol involving saline as the delivery solution for 3% food grade peroxide and Lugol’s iodine. Inhale through the nose to get the sinuses and the lungs. These are the deposition zones for inhaled garbage. Use at least 10 minutes per day. These ingredients help detoxify mycotoxins, decrease microbial load, and liquify mucus and biofilms. It is cheap, easy, and effective.

Nutrients; Vitamin C, alpha lipoic acid, TLC, phosphatidyl choline, butyrate, tudca, glutathione, and lymphactive. Homeopathics of Drainage milieu, lymph 2, liver milieu, GB milieu, and mycotox help move garbage out and into the disposal chute. You must avoid constipation at any cost. IVs of Vitamin C, phosphatidyl choline, glutathione, and butyrate (when we can get it back). I would suspect IV alpha lipoic acid may be of benefit.

Reduce contamination. Stop leaks, run dehumidifiers, run air filters, and removed damaged materials. Find a professional please. I have seen so many disasters created by cheap short cuts.
